About the CST

Matthias Revers

Dr. Matthias Revers is a Lecturer in Media and Communication at the University of Leeds. He got a PhD in Sociology from the State University of New York in Albany where he conducted on a cross-nationally comparative ethnography of political reporters, subsequently published as Contemporary Journalism in the US and Germany. Revers is a CCS Faculty Fellow and a former Fulbright scholar. His current research deals with political polarization, including the boundaries between permissible and impermissible speech, the power of divisive public performances and the microsociology of how politics disrupts and strains familial relations.
