Fiona Greenland

Fiona Greenland is Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Virginia. She is a cultural sociologist with interests in art, nationalism, cultural policy, visual technologies, and interpretive methods. Recent publications include Ruling Culture: Art Police, Tomb Robbers, and the Rise of Cultural Power in Italy (University of Chicago Press: 2021). She is currently using civil sphere theory to analyze postwar cultural reconstruction in Syria.
